Nights are for sleeping. They are important to your health. For some reason, students often try to pull all-nighters in order to finish their work. This is a bad habit for a number of reasons. Take a closer look at our 5 true facts why one must not be doing homework all night long.

  1. You will be tired-sleep is necessary for our body. When you pull an all nighter, your deprive the body of an important component of its cycle. This will result in your being tired all day long. If you take energy drinks to pep up some, you will peak and then crash even further. Go to sleep, and do your body a favor so it isn’t tired all day.
  2. The work won’t be as good-the work you finish in the middle of the night will not be as sharp or accurate as the work you complete when you have slept properly. It is better to just go to bed early, and then wake up early rather than to stay up all night long.
  3. You will wear down and get sick-the no sleep pattern will wear down your body’s immunity system. You will be more susceptible to illness and get sick more often. Be kind to your body, and go to sleep.
  4. Your sleep pattern becomes off balance-your body has a natural pattern of sleep and awake time. When you begin to m ix these two times, your system becomes confused. When it is time for you to finally sleep, you may not be able to because your body is so confused about the patterns.
  5. You will be stressed-getting little to no sleep has been shown to increase stress levels. You are cranky, nervous, and overly stressed when you stay up all night to do you work. You are a nicer, calmer, and kinder person when you get the correct amount of sleep. Being stressed all the time can wear you down, and make you sick as well.

For these five very important reasons, it is imperative that you get the right amount of sleep each night. You need to make a schedule and stick to it, so that your work is completed during non-sleep hours. You and your body will benefit from the proper amount of sleep time.
